Ahmedabad to Ankleshwar Taxi Service
Ankleshwar is on the south bank of the Narmada, opposite Bharuch. It is known for the Ankleshwar GIDC, a large chemical, pharmaceutical and dyes estate, and for the nearby estates at Panoli and Jhagadia. Most people travelling from Ahmedabad are plant engineers, auditors, buyers, contractors and consultants with a site visit to make.
Happy Car Rental provides cars with drivers for the roughly 200–220 km run, either as a round trip with waiting at the plant or a one-way drop. Choose a Dzire, Ertiga or Innova Crysta, or a Winger or Tempo Traveller for project teams. Book on +91 76000 09227.

Getting there by road
The route follows the expressway to Vadodara and then NH48 south, past Bharuch and across the Narmada. Expect three and a half to four hours depending on traffic. The last part is the busiest: the bridge crossing and then the turn into the estate, where trucks and tankers queue at shift change.
Many plants start their general shift early, so a 5:30–6 am pickup from Ahmedabad is common for a morning meeting. If you have a fixed reporting time, tell us when booking so we can set the pickup time with some margin.
Site-visit checklist
A little preparation saves time at the gate:
- Plot number and company name: GIDC addresses go by plot and sector, and similar company names are common. Share the plot number, not just the company name.
- Visitor approval: most units need your name and vehicle number in advance. We share the vehicle and driver details once the booking is confirmed.
- Safety gear: chemical and pharma plants often require safety shoes and other PPE for shop-floor visits. Ask your host whether they provide it, and carry your own shoes if not.
- Vehicle entry: some plants do not let outside cars inside the gate. The driver will wait in the visitor parking or nearby, and you can call when you are done.
- Documents: keep a printed copy of purchase orders, inspection formats or ID, as mobile signal can be patchy inside some buildings.
Ankleshwar, Panoli and Jhagadia
Panoli GIDC lies a short way south of Ankleshwar along NH48, and Jhagadia GIDC lies to the east towards Rajpipla. Many visits cover two estates in one day. Tell us all the stops in advance so the plan and kilometres are clear from the start.
| Type of visit | How it is usually planned |
|---|---|
| Single plant meeting | Round trip on the same day: early start, back in Ahmedabad by night |
| Audit or inspection over two or three days | Car stays with you, or a one-way drop with a pickup booked for the last day |
| Plant visit plus a meeting in Vadodara or Surat | Round trip with the extra city added as a stop on the way |
| Project or shutdown team | Winger or Tempo Traveller on a fixed pickup schedule |
Same-day return or stay over?
An Ankleshwar return is roughly 420–440 km, which works out to seven to eight hours of driving before you add time at the plant. That is a long day for both you and the driver. It works for a short meeting, but not for a full-day audit.
If a meeting overruns and you have to leave the plant late in the evening, the night drive back on NH48 is heavy with trucks and tankers. In that case it is often wiser to stay the night and leave early the next morning. Discuss the option with us when booking, so the driver’s rest and the extra day are already part of the plan.
In the monsoon, heavy rain in south Gujarat can cause waterlogging on approach roads to the estates and slow traffic around the bridge. From June to September, add some time to your schedule and keep your host informed if you are running late.
For longer work, stay in Ankleshwar or across the river in Bharuch. The Ahmedabad to Ankleshwar one-way taxi is useful when your company handles local transport at the site, or when you go on to another city afterwards. If your meetings are in Bharuch city rather than the estates, use the Ahmedabad to Bharuch taxi page instead, since you will not need to cross the river.
Round trips over 300 km a day are charged on actual kilometres, with driver allowance, tolls and parking extra. The Taxi Tariff page has the per-km rates.
Pickup and drop
Pickups are often from company guest houses and offices on SG Highway, from Vatva, Naroda and Odhav, where many chemical firms have their head offices, or from the SVPI airport for visitors flying in. In Ankleshwar we drop at factory gates, the railway station and hotels along the highway. For an onward meeting further south, see our Ahmedabad to Surat taxi page.
Choosing a vehicle
- Dzire: a single engineer or auditor with a laptop and a small bag.
- Ertiga: a small team with sample boxes, testing kits or safety gear.
- Innova Crysta: senior visitors or foreign clients on a long day, with more legroom for the seven-plus hours on the road.
- Winger, Tempo Traveller or Toofan: commissioning, shutdown or training teams of up to eleven.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the drive to Ankleshwar take?
About 3.5 to 4 hours for roughly 200–220 km. The Narmada bridge and the estate entry at shift-change times are where delays usually happen.
Can the driver wait inside the GIDC plant?
That depends on the company’s rules. Many plants allow visitor parking inside or just outside the gate. Where they do not, the driver waits nearby and comes when you call.
Is Ankleshwar the same trip as Bharuch?
They are close, but Ankleshwar is across the river and the estates are spread out, so expect extra time and kilometres. Book the page that matches where your work actually is.
Can you transport a team to the plant every day?
Yes. For daily or weekly runs we can plan a Winger or Tempo Traveller on a fixed schedule. Share the dates, number of people and pickup points, and confirm the terms when booking.
