Ahmedabad to Rajasthan Taxi Service
Ahmedabad is a natural starting point for road trips into Rajasthan. Udaipur, Mount Abu and Nathdwara are each within a day’s drive, and longer tours reach Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Pushkar and Jaipur. Families, pilgrims, wedding parties and groups of friends prefer a car with a driver because Rajasthan’s distances are long and plans change along the way.
We run round trips and multi-day tours from Ahmedabad with the same car and driver throughout, plus one-way drops to selected Rajasthan cities. Choose a Dzire, Ertiga or Innova Crysta, or a Winger, Tempo Traveller or Toofan for groups.

Two main roads into Rajasthan
Almost every Rajasthan trip from Ahmedabad starts on one of two roads:
- NH48 via Himmatnagar and Shamlaji – enters Rajasthan at the Ratanpur border and runs through the Aravallis to Udaipur. It is the way to Nathdwara, Kumbhalgarh and Chittorgarh, and onward towards Ajmer and Jaipur.
- Via Mehsana, Palanpur and Abu Road – crosses the border north of Palanpur. It leads to Mount Abu and continues through Sirohi and Pali towards Jodhpur, with Ranakpur reachable from this side.
Using one road out and the other back turns many trips into a loop with no backtracking. Udaipur–Mount Abu is a common example.
Short trips and long tours
Rajasthan trips from Ahmedabad fall into two groups. The first is southern Rajasthan: Udaipur, Mount Abu, Nathdwara, Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur. They are all within roughly a day’s drive and work well as weekend or three-to-four-day trips. Pilgrims heading to Shrinathji, families escaping the summer heat, and couples on a short break make up most of this traffic.
The second group is the longer tours to Jodhpur, Ajmer, Pushkar and Jaipur. These need more days, longer daily drives and more careful hotel planning. Jaipur, for example, is a long way from Ahmedabad, so many travellers take a one-way drop and fly or take the train back, while others build a week-long circuit through several cities. Tell us which kind of trip you have in mind and we will suggest a realistic number of days.
Destinations at a glance
| Destination | Typical trip length from Ahmedabad | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Udaipur | 2–3 days | Lakes and palaces; see Udaipur taxi |
| Mount Abu | 2 days | Hill station with a ghat road; see Mount Abu taxi |
| Nathdwara (Shrinathji) | 2 days | Nathdwara trip and Shrinathji darshan pages |
| Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur | Add 1–2 days | Usually combined with Udaipur or Nathdwara |
| Jodhpur | 3–4 days | Long drive; can return via Mount Abu |
| Ajmer and Pushkar | 3–4 days | Dargah and lake town; ask us to plan the route |
| Jaipur | 4–5 days | Often done as a one-way drop; see Jaipur one-way taxi |
Interstate border tax
A taxi registered in Gujarat must pay Rajasthan’s entry tax for tourist vehicles at the border checkpost. The amount depends on seating capacity and how many days the vehicle will be in the state, so a two-day Mount Abu trip and a week-long tour cost differently. Like tolls and parking, it is charged on top of the per-km fare. Send us your full itinerary and we will confirm the tax when booking, so there are no surprises at the checkpost.
Planning a multi-day trip
- Daily minimum: round trips are billed for at least 300 km per day, counted from our garage back to our garage, plus driver allowance per day. A rest day in one city still counts towards the minimum. See the taxi tariff.
- Daily driving: keep it to about six or seven hours. Distances in Rajasthan look short on a map but take longer on two-lane roads and through towns.
- Night driving: try to finish the hill sections near Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh and Mount Abu before dark.
- Hotels: pick places with parking, and ask about driver rooms. Old-city hotels in Udaipur and Jaipur may need a short walk from the car.
- Loops: plan a circuit such as Udaipur – Kumbhalgarh – Ranakpur – Mount Abu, which avoids repeating the same highway.

Before you set off
- Carry photo ID for every traveller. Hotels in Rajasthan ask for it at check-in.
- Share hotel names and addresses with us in advance, so the driver can plan drop points and parking.
- Keep some cash for parking, monument entry, local guides and small purchases in markets.
- Pack a light jacket even in October or March. Hill towns and desert nights can be cooler than Ahmedabad.
Seasons
October to March is the main touring season, with mild days and cold nights in the desert regions in December and January. April to June is very hot on the plains, though Mount Abu stays popular with Gujarati families. The monsoon (roughly July to September) fills Udaipur’s lakes and greens the Aravallis. Diwali, Christmas–New Year week and big fairs such as the Pushkar fair in the Kartik month bring heavy demand, and fares may increase in festival seasons, so book early.
Choosing a vehicle for Rajasthan
For long tours, an Innova Crysta is the comfortable choice for families with several days of luggage. An Ertiga suits shorter trips like Udaipur or Mount Abu, and a Dzire suits couples. For wedding parties, college groups or two or three families together, a 9 seater Winger, an 11 seater Tempo Traveller or an 11 seater Toofan keeps everyone in one vehicle and pays the border tax once.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Rajasthan border tax included in the fare?
No. It is paid at the border and charged extra, along with tolls and parking. It depends on the vehicle and the number of days, so we confirm it when booking.
Can one car cover several Rajasthan cities?
Yes. On a multi-day tour, the same car and driver stay with you from Ahmedabad and back, following the itinerary you agree with us.
How many days do we need for Udaipur and Mount Abu together?
Three to four days is comfortable: out via NH48 to Udaipur, a sightseeing day, then on to Mount Abu and back via Palanpur.
Do you offer one-way taxis to Rajasthan?
Yes, to destinations such as Udaipur, Mount Abu, Nathdwara and Jaipur. One-way fares are quoted separately when you book.
